Los Angeles rightfully must stop buying power and water from Arizona to keep it's boycott plans.

San Francisco must hide from the press it's greater adventures in edgy immagration enforcements to avoid being seen as self incriminating in it's views.

San Diego restrained itself after realizing the size of the Arizona summer tourist trade it stood to lose.

The core economics of the boycott is that California has more to lose from it than Arizona does. That said, should not the protests get started on the basis of facts?

Missouri has had a law that is similar, for three years now. Can we get statistical evidence from Missouri on the presence or absense of Racial Profilling incidents? Is this "what if" injustice a true concern or just misrepresentation of Arizona for feel the rage politics in California and the President? Why did Mossouri's law lay unchallenged for three years? Has it created a detectable case load in Racial Profiling? What does the data from Missouri say?Arctifichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02218285176276639334noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7683096707014838986.post-82346074502897533682010-05-13T05:35:31.750-07:002010-05-13T05:35:31.750-07:00it's good to see this information in your post...it's good to see this information in your post, i was looking the same but there was not any proper resource, thanx now i have the link which i was looking for my research.jenniferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09226241977752348399noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7683096707014838986.post-46552041273094903452010-04-29T10:43:26.772-07:002010-04-29T10:43:26.772-07:00Whenever i see the post like your's i feel tha...Whenever i see the post like your's i feel that there are still helpful people who share information for the help of others, it must be helpful for other's. thanx and good job.

Buy Dissertations Onlinejenniferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09226241977752348399noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7683096707014838986.post-13057766414231730372009-10-25T02:45:08.934-07:002009-10-25T02:45:08.934-07:00Yaaaiy! The first time I heard that term it resonated because it was a METAPHOR used to describe children who are NATIVE to today's technology and thus comfortable with the rate of change, and adults who are IMMIGRANTS to today's technology, in fact for some technology is so FOREIGN that it takes time to ADAPT. Are we now so political that accurate descriptions are off limits? Davidson had no reason to apologize in my opinion.Ms. Agbowohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13450820332471112624noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7683096707014838986.post-54919287647452022782008-01-09T16:56:00.000-08:002008-01-09T16:56:00.000-08:00I think that "early adopter" vs "late adopter" mig...I think that "early adopter" vs "late adopter" might be a concept better accepted than "digital immigrants vs digital natives" because the notion of adoption puts the power in the hands of the individual (to decide to accept or not the new technology), whereas "immigrant" leads to believe that the person was "ejected" from his/her place in time and society by another power (i.e., the technology itself).
However much I might disagree with Prensky on this specific point, I still think that he is a very interesting resource to keep up with. He has certainly been important in the effort to mainstream gaming for educational purposes.Sabine Reljichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14182872996850485874noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7683096707014838986.post-48464964039626988332008-01-08T19:53:00.000-08:002008-01-08T19:53:00.000-08:00Thanks for posting. What a great argum...Oh, thank you for posting this. What a great argument. Too many people have been stuck with believing that their digital un-nativeness relegated them to the darks ages of pre-computer/video game areas with no hope to ever dialog in a common language with this "new" generation. The sheer number of incredibly creative so-called digital immigrants in SL and in education using video games to enhance their instruction has been proving Prensky wrong for a while now. Other details such as l33t (or l337 or 1337) has certainly not been invented by the "so called new digital natives." L33t has been present for a long while in scripting/hacking/developing circles.
It is rather clear that we've been dealing with a phenomena in the becomings of mainstreaming (if I may put it this way) of social interaction and play among American students (let's not forget that this phenomena is far from being world wide). Also, integrating new modalities to teaching to enhance the learning experience has usually been the trademark of innovative and successful teachers (and by the way, gaming has been used in education for a long time....it was just in other forms and for other educational purposes. Again, why stopping its use after kindergarten?).
One may also argue that a "digital immigrant" (based on my birth date -I guess), like all other cultural immigrants (is there any other kind of "immigrant-ness"?), is immersed in the "new" culture. Therefore, a learning process occur that leads to mastering the new language/culture to a satisfactory level (i.e., functioning and participating) in the new culture. Possibly, an accent remains. Not all the time. But I dare say that if there is such a thing as being a "digital immigrant," it has so far helped me a great deal maintaining my objectivity in using the "digital", in selecting the appropriate opportunities (educative?) for using them, and in adapting a more relevant and effective new pedagogy in using the new tools in class.
As much as I can see, hear and read, those "digital natives" don't "naturally" know how to use their digital tools effectively. They might know now how to turn them on, but still not how to proceed with the relevant selection of pertinent information (such as in a basic search on the web). Hence, a digital native does not necessarily have a digital literacy. Consequently, I do not believe that the "digital natives vs. digital immigrants" concept can even stand. or...what are we talking about?
:-)
S.Sabine Reljichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14182872996850485874noreply@blogger.com
